![]() ![]() However *SPOILER* - the ending is totally frustrating if you cheered for the 2nd male lead which I and probably most of us did. Loved the drama because of the side stories and mostly because of Han Ji-Pyeong and the granny - really worth watching it. They are unoriginal and make me less likely to view a show. Honestly, I am just tired of love triangles. Neither are wrong, but I think you need a more similar view to work well together. I also think that Dosan and Dalmi have more optimistic viewpoints, where Jipyeong has a realist view. Jipyeong seemed more of a dream of what we want to be and are envious of. Sometimes we make dumb decisions and can be stubborn, but that does not make them bad. I felt a lot of familiarity in Dosan, not the whole genius part, but he seemed very relatable which I liked. Unfortunately for a lot of men, these character traits apply to them, including me. These traits are often associated with female leads, although we have been moving away from those characters. In kdramas, the male leads are rarely shown to be awkward or insecure. First, I feel like the character of Dosan relates to a lot of men like me. I still like Jipyeong, but for two reasons I changed my view. In the second watch, I changed from team Jipyeong to team Dosan. I just finished watching Start Up for the second time since it finished airing, and I have had a change in opinion regarding the whole Dosan vs Jipyeong debate. I think the issue is with casting 2 big male leads, so it upsets anyways.įrustrated of the ending! But loved acting of all cast- masterpiece of emotions! But the writers wanted this to be present underdog story (Do-san) and not past underdog who is successful now (HJP). I was hoping that Do-san love interest would slowly move on to In-Jae and his influence making her softer. Dal-mi was shown to be resilient, Do-san was just leaching on her for all his insecurities. I also think Dal-mi and Do-San relation looked situational and unreal. His success is wasted by showing him left to do charity projects (That's good, but. The writers have to think about the message they gave by making HJP lonely at the end with all the struggle he had in life to be successful. Granny was the only one to give love to HJP in past or present, he went to extreme lengths to help every one, he cleared Do-san positively in the lying about past. I was not hoping for a all happy ending but was rooting for HJP from the start, which probably most of us did. However, I skipped to the ending expectedly felt totally frustrating. *SPOILER* - But I lost it somewhere between E10 to E12, where the relation between HJP & Dal-mi moved to point of no return. It's a good emotional drama, but mostly because of the side story of Han Ji-Pyeong and the granny - really worth watching it. ![]() But I would give it a rating of around 6.5/10. ![]() Would I recommend this drama? Sure, since it's a positive k-drama available on Netflix with two great main leads. Ji-Pyeong kind of annoyed me too, maybe because his character seemed like a pretty predictable "k-drama" character to me. It was getting boring when the story pretty much became just "see the business grow!! But ooh competition/conflict!" and "here's a sprinkle of romance so the show isn't too boring." They could have added more scenes outside of "work" and "home/going home" where they don't talk about the business. If I really like a drama, I'd be so hooked that I can binge-watch it. On the other hand, this drama seemed a little slow and corny at points. I also enjoyed watching Nam Joo Hyuk and Bae Suzy act together! It makes you feel like you can really achieve your dreams but they also show the importance of having realistic goals. I also like how inspiring the drama was, how they stress the phrase "follow your dream" and how they portrayed the growth of a small company. The character seemed like a real person so it was refreshing to watch him.
